Heroes’ Voices connects veterans with the power of music and poetry to build confidence and community.

The 2018 Heroes’ Voices National Veterans Poetry Contest received hundreds of poetry submissions from 36 states and the District of Columbia.especially the estimated 500,000 veterans who are returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan with post-traumatic stress disorder, (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Heroes’ Voices leverages the power of music and poetry to make a direct, positive impact on veterans.

Our programs include:

Veterans Voices

Building confidence and community with: • Vets Singing with Vets workshops • Free guitars and free music lessons • Poetry workshops

Voices for Veterans Speaking up for veterans and their unique needs with: • Research • Advocacy • Partnership with other organizations serving veterans

Veterans Resources Comprehensive information about and access to music and music therapy across the USA.

Launched in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013 we are now expanding to communities around the country. More information is available at www.heroesvoices.org.

Heroes’ Voices Presents - The Soldier’s Journey

The Heroes’ Voices National Veterans Poetry Contest received submissions from veterans all over the country. We gathered a distinguished panel of nationally recognized advisors and judges. This culminating event, The Soldier’s Journey is a celebration of the creative spirit of our nation’s veterans.
