logoMs. Winnie Wong began her training on the guzheng in 1983 at the age of four and a half under the expertise of guzheng virtuoso, Ms. Weishan Liu and at the age of 5, she had her first debut .

Throughout her career, her musical talent has been showcased at events for the San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, Assembly member, Leland Yee Ph.D., U.C. Berkeley Chancellor Tien, Celebration of Chinese Medicine Day, the grand opening of the San Francisco Main Library, Grand Opening of the Asian Art Museum, and the dedication of the permanent Chinese artifact exhibit and federal courthouse in Sacramento, and Summer Night Markets in San Francisco Chinatown and many of Chinatown’s Festivals. She has also been invited to perform at various conventions and concerts in Reno, Miami, Detriot, Los Angeles and San Diego and concert halls such as Masonic Auditorium, Herbst Theatre, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and Davies Symphony Hall. In other occasions, she has lectured and demonstrated at University of California Santa Clara, Skyline College, City College of San Francisco, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and various other universities and colleges here in the Bay Area. Her talents have been featured on media such as KRON4 Evening Magazine, KTSF Channel 26, and SingTao Daily USA.

She has performed and coordinated entertainment for the Hong Kong Tourism Board's Project, "Hong Kong, Live It, Love It" in their promotional campaign to increase tourism in Hong Kong and performing as a guest artist alongside Peony Performing Arts at the Miss Asian American Beauty Pageant and 2004 Ethnic Dance Festival. She produces at least one concert a year showcasing the talents of her students as well as herself. Throughout her performance, her audience responded to her as a passionate and captivating artist who touched their hearts with her music.

In 2003, Ms. Wong, along with co-founder Wei Hou (multi-wind instrumentalist), started China's Spirit Music Ensemble - a musical ensemble consisting of guzheng and a variety of Wind Instruments. Currently she also performs as a part of a fusion music group, “Ultra World X-tet”. Her music is also on the CD’s of Samovar Tea Lounge and Ultra World X-tet”.
