A new organization, the Disco Coalition, has taken up residency in San Francisco. Its members are looking to foster community, raise money and honor some of the queer community’s heroes (or as they call them, “queeros”), and they’re starting with a weekly happy hour at the Lookout.

The series kicks off Friday, March 29, and is set to continue for 12 weeks (so that’s 13 parties total). Each happy hour, the group pays tribute to queeros and selects a beneficiary to receive 100 percent of the proceeds. Tito’s Vodka is matching the donation up to $1,000, so we’re talking some real cash for organizations that can always use a financial boost.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a party without a rotating cast of hosts and DJs. For the first party, Juanita MORE!, one of the Bay Area’s most politically and socially engaged drag performers, is pulling double duty as both the host and queero of honor. The Disco Coalition has also signed up DJs from the party Go BANG! to provide the soundtrack. The beneficiary for the first week is the GLBT Historical Society.
