 | The wonderful May 19, 2013 gathering of Maitri family and guests at the Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSF can only be described as bliss! Kudos to Bliss 2013 sponsors (see listing at right), donors and guests who created a magical evening of fun and purpose knowing that funds raised went directly to Maitri Compassionate Care programs. Bliss guests enjoyed a variety of goodies ranging from crab cakes to roasted pork tenderloin to scrumptious chocolate torts … all paired with an abundance of yummy libations including special Bliss cocktails made with Blue Angel vodka. The evening’s program was emceed by Gregg Cassin, and the Live Auction / Fund-A-Need action was carried out with great aplomb by auctioneer extraordinaire, Lenny Broberg. The evening’s entertainment began with beautiful performances by Patrick Makuakane and his dance troupe, Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu followed by the soulful performances of jazz artist, Spencer Day and the evening’s last set by Mary Wilson with a stunning finale that brought-down-the-house with a joyous performance of “Stop in the Name of Love” accompanied by over twenty “once-in-a-lifetime” back-up singers comprised of event guests – a truly blissful experience. The funds raised at Bliss 2013 surpassed goals due to the wonderful love and support of donors and guests for which we are profoundly grateful. |
