When Pigs Fly Over the Moon: A QTAPI Gathering

Category: Nonprofit function2019-03-15
logoThe Bay Area is home to some of the earliest Queer and Trans Asian and Pacific Islander (QTAPI) organizations in the nation. Starting in the 70's and 80's, QTAPI groups have been organizing for justice and equity in our communities, and many of those same groups are still continuing to do so. Born out of a collaborative process responding to the current needs of our community, When Pigs Fly Over the Moon is a historic event bringing together many of the Bay Area's QTAPI serving organizations in one place. It is inter-organizational, inter-generational, showcases our community talent and strengths, shows off our rich history, and raises funds for a common cause (API Pride Pavilion). Think of it as part mixer, part resource fair, part talent showcase, and part history exhibit, with as much of our community in one place as possible.

What:br> A resource fair in the brand new Salesforce Tower on the 3rd floor (ADA accessible) with performances and breakout sessions throughout the duration of the event, and a historical/archival display provided by APIENC and the GLBT Historical Society.
