| While “history” deals with the past, our “NOWstories” are stories of what the residents are feeling at this moment, in the midst of tremendous change.
A collaboration between Urbanstreet Films, Archive Productions and Hospitality House, this project draws attention to the issues of displacement and gentrification as a consequence of the revitalization efforts of Mid-Market, Tenderloin, and South-of-Market neighborhoods. Through the collection of voices of the often under-represented residents of the neighborhood, our collaboration will produce a series of video stories that showcase the current residents and their concerns, fears, and hopes for the change happening around them. The Oral NOWstories project is generously supported by the San Francisco Arts Commission Cultural Equity Grant. | |
